Third Summer Reading Book

1. Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe
2. Fannie Flagg
3. 394 pages
4. Fiction
5. This book is about a middle aged women named Evelyn Couch who is not very happy about her life. She thinks that her life is coming to an end when really it is just getting started. She realized this through the help of her unlikely friend, Mrs. Threadgoode. Mrs. Threadgoode is an elderly lady that Evelyn meets at the Rose Terrace Nursing Home. Mrs. Threadgoode helps Evelyn by telling stories of when she was young and living in Whistle Stop. The two women become great friends, and in tern both learn something from each other.
6. Overall I liked this book. Its a good story about southern women and a small town that brings them together. The author did a great job of developing the characters. As the reader I feel like I know a lot about each character. This book also has a good message at the end. I think a lot of people would really like this book. Maybe adults more than kids, but I really enjoyed it.
7. Fried Green Tomatoes is a southern feel good book. I'm not really sure what to compare it too. Little Alters Everywhere is also a southern book. Set in a different time than Fried Green Tomatoes, but still southern.
8. I would give the book four stars.
